BW 36.174 is a made-to-measure luxurious fashion brand, designed in New Zealand By Blair Wheeler. 

The brand is identified by the designers initials BW followed by the numbers 36.174 which are the geographic longitude and latitude coordinates of Auckland, New Zealand, where each piece is meticulously crafted. 

Born in Auckland , New Zealand, Blair discovered his penchant for clothing design during his younger high school years. Through a scholarship programme Blair studied Fashion at Whitecliffe College of arts and design in Auckland, showcasing his first collection in 2012. 

Since 2010 Blair has worked alongside and under the mentorship of Master tailor and Couturier Adrienne Winkelmann. After years of developing key skills and enough confidence, Blair launched BW 36.174. Initially a menswear brand that worked to push the boundaries of design through the use of unconventional materials, and methods.

BW has since evolved into a womenswear brand with a new objective.

The BW aesthetic is two things. Technical, with an intelligent sensuality, And an extension of his muse. A women who evokes confidence, determination and exudes magnetic energy. The BW brand strives to create a modern platform for the endearing women, bidding focus on it’s made to measure service, so every women can experience the sense of empowerment BW brings.

All BW garments are eligible for a made-to-measure service under the recommendation of BW himself. 

The made-to-measure process begins with a consultation, during which we spend some time trying your favourite garments on, determining whether an alteration or order is required for the next step. Through this process we learn and understand what your requirements may be to ensure we get the best and most suitable outcome for your pieces. We build a profile with comprehensive measurements which we will be kept on record for future orders as well.

If alterations are required from off the rack garments the adjustments will take approximately 5-7 days to complete, after which we will see you again for a final fitting to ensure you are happy with the fit.

If orders are required from the initial consultation , construction takes approximately 2-4 weeks, during which we will see you again for a calico toile fitting. Followed by one or more further fittings for any additional refinements required before finishing the garment. If your garment is date-specific please, get in touch with us as early as you can, as we always advocate for as much time as possible.

Each BW garment is constructed with a half inch seam allowance, enabling us the advantage of altering specific garments up a size or two.

BW garments are handmade and measurements may vary slightly during manufacturing processes. The table below provides information on the sizing of BW garments that will help you decide on which size to buy.

GARMENT CARE

Please follow the below garment care instructions to ensure longevity of your BW 36.174 garments

Leather - Condition the leather once every season. Firstly, clean the leather with specialised leather cleaner, once dried with a cloth, then condition the leather. This will ensure the leather doesn’t dry out. BW leather goods are made from natural hides that feature scares or natural markings that shows it organic beauty.

Silk – This fabric is of very delicate nature, avoid rough surfaces and sharp objects. Dry clean only, can be lightly steamed. 

Wool – brush wool garments lengthwise after wearing to remove surface soil that might become stains later on. Dust and dirt can dull the appearance of wool fabrics. Ensure wool garments are hung on shaped or padded coat hangers, to keep its shape. To avoid excess piling, please avoid rough surfaces. Dry clean only, can be lightly steamed.

Knitwear – Store your knits folded in a drawer or shelf. Hanging knitwear can cause shape and fit to distort. Gently wash knitwear by hand with like colours. Avoid harsh detergents, bleach and stain removers. Dry flat in shade, do not Dry-clean. To avoid excess piling, please avoid rough surfaces. 

Postage And Delivery

BW delivers throughout New Zealand and internationally. Please provide a physical residential or business address with your order to ensure delivery is prompt. If you want to change your delivery address after order has been processed, please immediately contact bw@bw36.174.com with order number and preferred delivery address. 

New Zealand Delivery – $5 postage with tracking number. Order will arrive 1-3 working days from date of order

Australia Delivery -  $30 postage with tracking number. Order will arrive 2-5 working days from date of order

International Delivery - $50 postage with tracking number. Order will arrive 7-10 working days from date of order 

Please note: BW off-the-rack orders will arrive within the above delivery times. However, BW made-to-measure orders will take an additional 2- 4 weeks to create. Delivery time will vary depending on each garments complexity of construction. 

Your order will be processed as soon as your order has been placed. We will send a confirmation email once your order has been shipped, along with your tracking number. All packages must be signed on delivery, if purchaser authorises the courier to leave the parcel without signature then they do so at their own risk. If delays are incurred at receivers end due to parcels being unable to be delivered, custom clearance in your respective country or anything else, BW will not be responsible. 

Custom And Import Duty Fees

BW orders sent internationally may incur import duties and custom charges when entering your country. We are unable to estimate these charges. Payment of these is necessary to release your order from customs. Please contact your local customs office for further information. If for any reason a shipment is returned due to customer refusing to pay customs fees, BW has the right to deduct the original and/or the return shipping fee from the full refund.

Payment Terms

BW products are priced and payments are made in New Zealand Dollar. All prices are GST inclusive. We accept payments from all major credit cards via PAYPAL, and shopify pay.

Pre Order or Made-to measure Deposits

At BW we offer a made-to-measure service to ensure garments are tailored to each and every body. With Pre orders and made to measure garments we will need a 50% deposit to proceed with the creation of your order. The 50% balance will then be paid once garment is ready for pick up.  Ordered items are considered as sold and the ‘pre-order’ cannot be cancelled.

Privacy

Your privacy and security is our number one priority. Please be aware that all personal details provided by our customers will be kept confidential and will not be distributed out. 

BW 36.174 will only use your provided details for related communication and will be kept safely and privately in our database. 

Returns

If you change your mind on your purchase you are welcome to return your full-priced item(s) for a full refund, credit or exchange. BW returns policy will provide a full refund to items that adhere to the below conditions – 

-       BW Off the rack and pre-ordered clothing can be returned. BW made-to-measure cannot be returned as this has been altered to the customers liking. 

-       Items must be unused in original condition with packaging, including gift bag, swing tags and all corresponding accessories.

-       Items must be returned within 7 days of purchase. Please contact BW to advise your return 

-       Item must be as new, free from make-up, perfume, altered or washed. Please be mindful of this when trying them on

-       We do not provide a refund on any sale or discounted items.

-       You will be refunded in your original form of payment. Unfortunately, we cannot take responsibility if your return gets lost on its way back or any import duties and taxes incurred. We recommend arranging a tracked courier for a safe and speedy return.

-       BW has the right to reject any items that do not comply with the above conditions.

If BW goods are faulty or damaged on arrival, we will offer a full refund, exchange or credit note as well as refunding the cost of shipping.
